δ-Botz Wed – Term 3 – 2019

Students are grouped into pairs and progress together through the various 10-week lessons.

• 01 Introduction – Students are introduced to the EV3 brick and the programming environment. They complete the basics before undertaking several challenges like the Factory Robot Challenge and the Design Brief Challenges.
  
• 02 Design Engineering 1 – Students are introduced to the design engineering principles and progress through the Make it Move and Make it Smarter Projects.
• 03 Design Engineering 2 – Students complete the Make it Smarter and Make a System Projects before learning about Forces and Motion Science Projects.
• 04 Science 1 – Students start the Science Experiments to build, program and learn about a particular field of Science. In Science 1 they build a Wind Turbine and a Solar Panel.
• 05 Science 2 – Students complete the Science Experiments. In Science 2 they learn about light intensity and use the temperature sensors to learn about Freezing and Thermal Insulation.
• 06 FIRST® League 1 (Not available in Term 3) – Students complete weekly challenges to master the HYDRO DYNAMICS℠ Robot Game.
• 07 FIRST® League 2 (Not available in Term 3) – Students complete weekly challenges to master the INTO ORBIT℠ Robot Game.
• 08 FIRST® League 3 – Students complete weekly challenges to master the yet to be released Robot Game.

Note: Only one FIRST® League will be available each term. In Term 3 it will be 08 FIRST® League 3.

Additionally, they will complete Core Set Projects such as the Colour Sorter and Puppy:

δ-Botz (Delta-Botz) classes are 2 hours (Year 4 – Year 8+).

Please note that children need to bring their own device to program the robots, either a:
Windows laptop with Bluetooth 4.0+
Mac laptop with Bluetooth 4.0+
Only for the Introduction Course, a tablet is suitable:
iPad / iPad mini with iOS 8.1+
Android Tablet with Bluetooth 4.0+.
